Matthew McConaughey is set to star in Gus Van Sant's next film, Sea Of Trees.
The Oscar-nominated Dallas Buyers Club star has signed up for the drama, reported The Wrap.
Ken Watanabe has also joined the film, which was written by Chris Sparling.
Sea Of Trees tells the story of an American man (played by Matthew), who plans to take his own life at the infamous Suicide Forest at the foothills of Mount Fuji.
Life Of Pi's Gil Netter will produce the film, which is set to start production soon.
Matthew, who has scooped Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe gongs for his performance as HIV-positive cowboy Ron Woodroof in Dallas Buyers Club, will next be seen in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar with Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain.
Ken, who starred in Christopher's Inception, will appear in Gareth Edwards' Godzilla remake alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Gary Oldman and Elizabeth Olsen.
