Melissa Leo could be taking on terrorists in a new film called The Toll.
The movie about a US tollbooth worker trying to thwart a major terrorist attack is in the early stages, and Oscar-winner Melissa's production company is involved.
If the movie goes ahead, the Oblivion actress is also expected to take the lead, reported Collider.
Director Neil LaBute was quizzed about the project during a press day for another film, and replied: " That's really just discussions. It's a script that I thought was interesting.
"Melissa Leo, I've worked with her on stage. It's one of those, wouldn't it be great if we get to make this? It's at that stage."
Asked whether the 53-year-old actress would be the star of the film, he said: "She would."
Neil said the movie would be " a character piece", putting a middle-aged woman in the sort of situation usually tackled by male action stars like Bruce Willis.
But he cautioned that the project isn't definitely going ahead.
"It'd be great if it could work, but who knows. Movies are - all I've found is that they're just tougher and tougher to make," he said.
