Mena Suvari - a good bridesmaid
Mena Suvari has insisted she's nothing like the hopeless bridesmaid she plays in new film The Knot.
The American Pie star plays a less than ideal maid of honour in the Noel Clarke-penned movie - but said she didn't draw on her own experience for the role.
"Last year in the summer I was a bridesmaid for the first time in my girlfriend's wedding. It was nothing like in this movie, because The Knot's pretty funny and there are a lot of events that take place in the run-up to the ceremony. I was happy that when I was a bridesmaid it went smoothly," she revealed.
Mena shot the flick in London earlier this year, and admitted she got caught up in pre-royal wedding fever.
"I wrapped on that project the weekend before the wedding so I was hoping that I could have stayed and actually seen it in person.
"I watched the ceremony, it was absolutely breathtaking and I thought Pippa (Middleton) was absolutely beautiful. I wasn't as regal a bridesmaid in The Knot!"
The actress, who is helping launch the Captain's Island challenge with Captain Morgan Rum, has also finished filming American Reunion with all her old American Pie co-stars.
"We've definitely kept in touch with each other over the years and a lot of us have worked with each other on other projects," she said.
"When you've been in the business for a certain amount of time you get to work with the same people again and it's just really fun. It's really cool."
