Mr T was missed from the A-Team movie, new star Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson has admitted.
Stars of the original TV series Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz, who played Face and Murdock, have cameos in the film, but Mr T, who played BA Baracus, refused to be involved.
Rampage, who plays BA in the big-screen remake, admitted at the London premiere: "It would have been cool if he could have been involved. I'm disappointed (he was not)."
Director Joe Carnahan revealed: "T and I have spoken and I've showed him a lot of the movie and he was quoted completely out of context in a way I know was not right because T is not the kind of guy to go bad on anybody.
"I thought if we couldn't use him in a really cool way it wasn't worth it."
Bradley Cooper and Sharlto Copley, who play Face and Murdock in the film, said they were pleased to have their original characters involved.
District 9 star Sharlto revealed he worked hard to get all the original surviving cast to cameo in the film, including Mr T.
He said: "It was very moving. I was trying very hard to make sure we could get all the guys to do cameos, unfortunately Mr T didn't, for whatever reason, in the end but I was a fan - I really wanted that. So when Dwight arrived on set it was very moving time for me."
Joe said of the cameos: "I thought it was a nice nod to the history and I thought it was nice for everybody."
