Muppets 'thrilled' with star honour

The Muppets' star status have been immortalised on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear and new Muppet Walter, who recently reunited on the big screen in The Muppets, were honoured with the 2,466th star on Hollywood Boulevard.

"I want to say, on behalf of the Muppets, we are just really happy to be here on Hollywood Boulevard today, joining some of the greatest names in showbiz... We would like to say how thrilled we are to be here and thank you for the star," said Kermit, before being interrupted by his friends.

Lisa Henson - the CEO of The Jim Henson Company and the daughter of the late Muppets creator Jim Henson - spoke of her father's vision.

"My father Jim Henson brought his dreams to life. First, he let his creativity run wild, then he surrounded himself with collaborators who shared his vision," she said.

"Together they brought these characters to life and shared them with the world, and as today proves, the world fell in love with the Muppets."
