Naomie Harris to star in Southpaw
Naomie Harris has joined the cast of boxing drama Southpaw.
The Bond girl will star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker and Rachel McAdams in the film, reported Deadline.
Jake is playing Billy, a down-and-out welterweight boxer who takes to substance abuse as his fortunes go downhill.
British star Naomie, 37, has landed the role of social worker Angela, who helps Billy and his children.
12 Years A Slave star Lupita Nyong'o was previously linked to the part.
Rachel will play Billy's wife and Forest is on board as former fighting champion-turned-boxing trainer Totus 'Tick' Willis.
Antoine Fuqua is set to direct the film for The Weinstein Company.
