New role Will Be Fine for McAdams
Rachel McAdams is set to play James Franco's girlfriend in drama Every Thing Will Be Fine.
The Notebook star, who has previously shared screen time with Ryan Gosling, Cillian Murphy and Channing Tatum, has joined James and Charlotte Gainsbourg in Wim Wenders' upcoming film, said The Hollywood Reporter.
James is already on board to play a man who has channelled the guilt he felt after accidentally killing a child in a road accident into a successful writing career. But as he becomes more famous, he begins to become more distant from the boy's mother and brother.
Rachel's character will have to deal with her boyfriend's deteriorating mental health. Sarah Polley was initially in talks to play the part, but the deal was never finalised.
Charlotte has been cast as the boy's mother, while Robert Naylor - who played the young Henry Cavill in Immortals - is playing the brother, who decides to get in touch with the man who killed his sibling 10 years on.
The film began shooting in Montreal last week.
Rachel, who has also starred in Terrence Malick's film To The Wonder and Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows, will next star in Richard Curtis' romantic drama About Time alongside Domhnall Gleeson and Bill Nighy.
The Canadian actress is also lending her voice to one of the characters in The Little Prince film and is attached to Cameron Crowe's as-yet-untitled film, set in Hawaii.
