O'Dowd cops a feel of police car

Chris O'Dowd has revealed he took advantage of his policeman status in Bridesmaids.

The IT Crowd star, who plays a cop in the comedy, admitted he would often use and abuse the uniform - and the car.

"I did love driving around in the car. They would find me in there often during lunch hour, just driving around in the cop car. But I had to have an actual cop car behind me because that would be impersonating a police officer," Chris said.

He quipped: "I used to pick up chicks. [I would say] 'Are you soliciting, why not?' No...!"

Chris also confirmed he is in talks to appear in Judd Apatow's Knocked Up spin-off, titled This Is Forty.

Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd will reprise their roles as Debbie and Pete five years after the last film, with Megan Fox, Albert Brooks, Charlene Yi, Lena Dunham and Wyatt Russell also tipped to make appearances in the comedy.

"That's looking likely. I mean, it's not all signed and delivered yet but that is probably going to happen," the Irish funnyman said.

"It's a very, very funny script. It's classic kind of Apatow. It is what Judd does great, which is to take a very real and truthful situation and try and get comedy around it rather than the other way around."

:: Bridesmaids is in cinemas now.
