Julia Ormond is said to be nearing deals to play Superman's Kryptonian mum Lara Lor-Van in Man of Steel.
The English actress was apparently offered the role in Zack Snyder's reboot and is expected to sign on the dotted line shortly, reported Heat Vision blog.
Russell Crowe is already on board as the caped crusader's Kryptonian dad Jor-El, while Kevin Costner and Diane Lane are set to play his earth parents Jonathan and Martha Kent.
Tudors star Henry Cavill will get to save the world as the eponymous superhero, joined by Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Michael Shannon as the villainous General Zod.
Filming is scheduled for August in Vancouver.
Julia - who previously appeared in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button and Che: Part One - has finished filming My Week With Marilyn, where she plays screen legend Vivian Leigh.
