Ana Ortiz has revealed that Bette Midler is at the top of her wish list if an Ugly Betty film got the go-ahead.
The 43-year-old actress, who played Betty's elder sister Hilda, admitted the cast always wanted the Beaches star to appear on the hit TV show before it was cancelled in 2010.
"It is a New York show so there would have to be New York celebrities. We always wanted to get Bette Midler," she told The Sun.
Ana, along with co-stars America Ferrera (Betty Suarez) and Vanessa Williams (Wilhelmina Slater), are keen to reunite to bring the much-loved characters to the big screen.
"I would love to say that there is a movie in the works. I just saw Vanessa and we were determined, fingers crossed," she said.
She already has some ideas for the film too.
"I think Hilda would be still married and maybe they own their own salon, maybe Betty is running her own magazine," she continued.
Ana previously told Wetpaint.com that plans for a film are still up in the air: "There's nothing concrete, but I know we all want to do it - most of all America. When America wants something, she will move mountains to get it."
