Anna Paquin will appear in X-Men: Days Of Future Past after all.
Director Bryan Singer said in December that Anna, who plays Rogue, wouldn't appear in the movie and that it had nothing to do with the True Blood star's performance.
The director said the Oscar-winning actress's scene alongside Magneto (Sir Ian McKellen), Professor X (Sir Patrick Stewart) and Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) had to be cut because it was "extraneous".
"It's a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go," he told Entertainment Weekly.
"Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she's in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won't appear in it."
But a Fox rep told BuzzFeed that the star will return to the movie for what is "essentially a cameo".
Days Of Future Past, which follows on from X-Men: First Class, features some of the original cast alongside the newer generation of X-Men stars such as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.
The film is released next month.
