Pegg and Frost: We're like family

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have said they feel like family after working together all these years.

The stars of The World's End, Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and Spaced have been friends for over 15 years, and insist working together doesn't affect their relationship.

Simon said: "I think we're always on the move as friends, we've grown up together, literally. Our friendship has evolved.

"We've gone from being flatmates and roommates and drinking buddies to fathers and husbands. We've moved away from each other and our friendship has always stayed as strong as it's ever been.

"Yeah there's always tense moments on set, there has to be, we work through them like any family."

Nick added: "It kind of feels exactly the same in terms of what is at the heart but as Simon said we have changed as people and this is what The World's End is about,. If friendships don't change and evolve they are potentially finished. But we never put any effort into that, we don't have to, which is a nice thing."

The pair revealed that their tensest moments on set are usually with director and longtime collaborator Edgar Wright. They admitted they sometimes team up to support each other if he is being particularly demanding.

Simon said: "We know when to leave each other alone, if one's in a mood we let him get on with it. But in terms of tension on set that tends to exist more between us and Edgar

"If Edgar's really pushing us and we're trying to get something right and it will be 'Edgar's really working me hard today,' and we tend to band together on that. But we are family, we act like family in that no matter how bad it gets, it's never the end."
