Penguins Of Madagascar coming soon

The Penguins Of Madagascar will be bursting into cinemas before the end of the year after their release date was brought forward.

DreamWorks has decided to bring the release of the Madagascar spin-off forward to Thanksgiving weekend in November 2014 in the US, instead of March next year, Deadline reported.

The penguins are switching places with Home, the animated movie about aliens hiding on Earth, featuring the voices of Jim Parsons, Jennifer Lopez, Steve Martin and Rihanna.

The date switch follows the high profile launch of How To Train Your Dragon 2 at the Cannes Film Festival and the poor box office performance of DreamWorks most recent animated movie Mr Peabody And Sherman.

The penguins - who already have their own TV series - take starring roles in the fourth Madagascar movie, following the success of the 2005 movie about a group of animals who escaped from New York Zoo.

The movie will feature the voices of Benedict Cumberbatch and John Malkovich, as well as Madagascar stars Ben Stiller, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Schwimmer and Chris Rock.
