Pfeiffer: Hathaway will be great

Michelle Pfeiffer has given Anne Hathaway her seal of approval to play Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.

Oscar-nominee Anne is donning the black catsuit for the last instalment in Christopher Nolan's trilogy, taking on the role made famous by Michelle in Tim Burton's 1992 film.

"I love Anne Hathaway, I'm a huge fan," Michelle, 54, told Celebuzz.

"The nature of all of these characters is they're played by different people all the time. I think she's great and I think she's going to be awesome."

Christian Bale reprises his role as Batman in the action flick. Other newcomers for the third Dark Knight instalment include Marion Cotillard, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Meanwhile, Michelle has reunited with Burton for new film Dark Shadows, along with Johnny Depp, Chloe Moretz and Eva Green. The Dangerous Minds star plays Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, the matriarch of the gothic family featured in the film.
