Rigby aims for fresh perspective
Emma Rigby has said she is looking for roles that will change people's impressions of the type of actress that she is.
The former Hollyoaks star features in new film Plastic alongside Will Poulter and has been shooting Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, a US TV series based on Alice In Wonderland where she plays the Red Queen, but said she would like to surprise people with her next project.
Of Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, the 24-year-old said: "I've just finished filming that series and that was definitely an experience working on green screen and getting to play an evil queen, wearing such fabulous costumes."
She continued: "But the next role I want to play is something completely different. I'm going to split my time between Los Angeles and here and I really want to work with new writers, new directors, and create something a little bit different and have people see me in a different light.
"One of my favourite roles I did was Prisoners' Wives on BBC One and that was a role where I wore no make-up, I was six months pregnant, and I like those really gritty, real, raw pieces."
Emma added: "I love to watch a lot of European cinema and my dream part would have been Blue Is The Warmest Colour, one of the girls from that. That's the kind of film that I'm interested in."
She can currently be seen in Plastic, based on a true story about credit card fraudsters who get on the wrong side of a gangster, which is in cinemas now.
