Zoe Saldana has revealed she wants Uhura to get physical in the next Star Trek movie.
The Colombian star revealed to Empire that she is always trying to find out from directors James Cameron and JJ Abrams what will happen in the sequels to Avatar and Star Trek, but neither will tell her until the scripts are finished, so she has resorted to planning her own outcomes.
Zoe said: "I can tell you for what I'd like to see happen [which is] for Spock and see Uhura to really hook up..."
She went on: "And for Uhura to get to do whatever physical activities - kick some b**t, some Romulan b**t".
She revealed while the end of Avatar saw the Na'avi fight off the pillaging humans from their planet of Pandora, she thinks the sequel may see them return, in keeping with the environmental message of the film.
Zoe said: "You get this sense that because we've seen it the way it's played out in our human civilisation - every time you fight against a system that is ruled by greed you can only get them out every now and then but they'll always come back bigger and stronger because you have what they need to feed their power.
"That said, I don't know that Jim is going to allow the story to typically unfold the way we've known through history, or whether he's going to have an interesting twist.
"My take is he's going to have a combination of both. Either way it's going to be amazing."
