Scarlett to buy zoo with Matt?
Scarlett Johansson is reportedly in talks to star opposite Matt Damon in We Bought A Zoo.
Cameron Crowe is directing Fox's movie adaptation of Benjamin Mee's memoir, with Matt starring as Benjamin and the director is meeting with several top young actresses to play the female lead, Deadline reports.
Amy Adams, Rachel McAdams and Scott Pilgrim's Mary Elizabeth Winstead are also said to be in the running to play Benjamin's wife, who was dying of brain cancer when her husband decided to blow all his money to save the zoo in the English countryside and its 200 exotic animals facing destruction.
He and his children balanced caring for his wife and dealing with escaped tigers, raising endangered animals, working with an eclectic skeleton crew and readying the zoo for its reopening.
Meanwhile, Scarlett is also being courted by Baz Luhrman for the role of Daisy Buchanan in his big screen adaptation of The Great Gatsby.
The Moulin Rouge recently held a workshop read through of the adaptation he has written with collaborator Craig Pearce, with Leonardo DiCaprio reading Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire reading Nick Carraway, and The Town's Rebecca Hall reading Daisy.
Baz apparently wants Leonardo and Tobey to star, but has a long list of top actresses he has in mind for the role of Daisy, including Rebecca and Scarlett.
Also reportedly meeting with the director are Keira Knightley, Amanda Seyfried, Blake Lively, Abbie Cornish, Michelle Williams and Natalie Portman.
