Seth Rogen cops a new film role

Seth Rogen is set to jump into a policeman's uniform for a forthcoming cop comedy.

The 50/50 star is teaming up with Kevin Hart, who he previously worked with on The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Undeclared, for the untitled film, reported Variety.

The pair are apparently tipped to play partners who have to investigate a drug ring in the movie - thought to be a "period piece set in the post-World War II jazz scene" - although no further details about the plot have been revealed.

Both Seth and Kevin will produce with Evan Goldberg and writer-producer Rodney Rothman, who came up with the idea and is writing the script.

Seth, who last starred in cancer comedy drama 50/50 with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and who previously played a policeman in Superbad, will next be seen in Neighbourhood Watch alongside Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Richard Ayoade.

He's also starring in comedy The Guilt Trip opposite Barbra Streisand, which is expected to be released later this year.
