Shannon still shocked by Superman
Michael Shannon has confessed he still can't believe he will be in a Superman film.
The award-winning actor, who takes on the role of General Zod in Zack Snyder's superhero reboot Man Of Steel, admitted it's still sinking in.
"It's a nice feather in my cap, for sure. It's not anything I ever imagined I would be a part of and I'm still trying to process it really," he said.
"When I started acting, I never thought I would be in a Superman movie so it's pretty neat. I did some big blockbusters before, but never this prominent a role."
The 38-year-old added: "I can't fathom how people would say no to Man Of Steel. I thought they were pulling my leg... Then I got on set, and realised they were serious. I had no qualms about doing it. I loved it. It was a blast."
Michael - who will next star in crime drama The Iceman as cold-blooded killer Richard Kuklinski - is thrilled for fans to see the film, which stars Henry Cavill as the eponymous superhero.
"I don't think Zack has anything to worry about. I got to see it and I'm really bowled over by what he did. I think it's really special," he said.
:: The Iceman opens in cinemas on June 7, while Man Of Steel is released on June 14.
