Sharlto Copley lands Hardcore role

Sharlto Copley is tipped to play a hero in new movie Hardcore.

The Elysium actor, known for playing villainous roles, will play the good guy in the new action and sci-fi film, reported The Wrap.

While few plot details are known, it's thought Sharto's character will be seen killing off baddies in a bid to save a woman.

Hardcore will be written and directed by Ilya Naishuller and produced by his fellow Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov.

It is said to be "an inventive first-person POV (point of view) action movie".

Since finding fame in District 9, Sharlto has had major roles in Hollywood films including The A-Team remake. He recently finished filming Spike Lee's Oldboy remake and Maleficent with Angelina Jolie.
