Sorvino to star in Class Project

Mira Sorvino has been named among the cast for true crime movie The Class Project.

The Oscar-winning Mighty Aphrodite actress plays the alcoholic mother of two Canadian sisters, played by Abigail Breslin and The Chronicles Of Narnia's Georgie Henley, Variety reports.

The siblings, who have suffered at the hands of their mum and her abusive boyfriends for years, plot to kill her and pocket the insurance money.

Production has just finished on the film, directed by Stan Brooks and based on reporter Bob Mitchell's book The Class Project: How To Kill A Mother: The True Story Of Canada's Infamous Bathtub Girls.

Mira has also just completed Trade Of Innocents with Dermot Mulroney, about a couple grieving the loss of their daughter who set out to rescue girls sold into the sex slave trade.
