Spall needs online films reminder

Timothy Spall has admitted he has to search the internet to remind himself about films he has "forgotten all about" after agreeing to appear in them.

The star, who rose to fame as hapless electrician Barry in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, said he also went online to read up on his own career as preparation for interviews.

He told Radio Times: "I don't look at forums, but sometimes before an interview I remind myself of what I've been in.

"Sometimes there are things on the internet movie database I've forgotten all about that I said I was going to do. In this day and age, it takes them a lot of time to get the money together."

Spall has appeared in dozens of films including the Harry Potter series, The Damned United, and The King's Speech in which he played Winston Churchill.

He also regularly works with director Mike Leigh.
