The Amazing Spider-Man 2 writers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner are set to reunite for the third film.
The trio, who share writing credits on the second instalment, have signed on to work on the screenplay for The Amazing Spider-Man 3, which would be released in June 2016, said The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog.
They are also thought to receive a story credit for the upcoming movie.
Andrew Garfield is expected to reprise his role of Peter Parker and his webbed alter-ego Spider-Man, while the studio is said to be keen for Marc Webb, who directed the first and second instalments, to return to the director's chair.
Alex and Roberto - who wrote the screenplays for JJ Abrams' Star Trek films and are tipped to work on the third film - were also credited as executive producers on Spider-Man 2.
The second film, which will be out in May 2014, sees Emma Stone returning as Spidey's love interest Gwen Stacy. Sally Field and Martin Sheen will also appear as Peter's aunt and uncle, May and Ben Parker.
Jamie Foxx will star as villain Electro, while Paul Giamatti is playing Russian mobster The Rhino.
