Sylvester Stallone is set to play a hitman in action-thriller Headshot.
The action man will portray a ruthless New Orleans contract killer who joins forces with a young NYPD detective, brought together by two vicious murders, to exact revenge, said The Hollywood Reporter.
South African filmmaker Wayne Kramer, who directed The Cooler and Crossing Over, will helm the picture, penned by Alessandro Camon.
"Sylvester Stallone is an international icon and we're really excited to be in business with him," said executive producer Stuart Ford.
Since last summer's The Expendables, which he wrote, starred in and directed, Sylvester has been working on the eagerly anticipated sequel, expected to be released in 2012.
