Stellan on Von Trier's new project

Stellan Skarsgard has revealed plans to work with Lars Von Trier on his next film.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star has worked with the controversial director several times, including in his new film Melancholia, but never on anything as racy as the next project Von Trier has in mind.

Stellan told E! News: "Lars called me and said, 'Stellan, my next film will be a porno film, and I want you to play the lead in it.'"

He added: "But then he said, 'You will not get to f**k.'"

In Melancholia Stellan appears alongside Kiefer Sutherland, Kirsten Dunst, and his son Alexander.

But Stellan revealed he has turned down the chance to appear opposite Alexander in hit show True Blood.

"I don't have the time," said Stellan, who appears in Thor, The Avengers and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo US remake. But he added: "I think it's very well done and he's great in it."

And despite his son following him into acting, Stellan takes no credit for Alexander's success.

He said: "I don't give him any advice at all, because for my kids, from the age of 16 their lives are their responsibility. If he had the feeling that it was thanks to me that he had any of his success, it would just be half a success. He owes everything to himself."
