Stewart, Baldwin for Still Alice
Kristen Stewart is set to star in indie drama Still Alice.
The Twilight actress is confirmed for the cast of the big-screen adaptation of Lisa Genova's novel, along with Alec Baldwin and Kate Bosworth, reported Screen Daily.
Julianne Moore has already been cast as a renowned neuroscience professor who discovers that she is suffering from an early onset of Alzheimer's disease. Kristen will play her youngest daughter, who bonds with her mother during her illness.
It is not known what characters Alec and Kate will portray.
Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland will direct the film, which is expected to start shooting in New York in March.
Emilie Georges from Memento Films International said: "We knew that the project would be met with enthusiastic interest but the market response to the script and package has been incredible."
Kristen, whose portrayal of Bella Swan in the Twilight film series launched her to stardom, appears to have focused on indie films since her foray into blockbuster territory. She received strong reviews for her portrayal of a Guantanamo Bay guard in Camp X-Ray, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
The 23-year-old, who will star in action-comedy American Ultra with Jesse Eisenberg, will next be seen opposite Juliette Binoche in drama Clouds Of Sils Maria and in Tim Blake Nelson's indie drama Anesthesia.
