Streep's singing voice unveiled
Meryl Streep's excellent singing voice is showcased in the latest trailer to be revealed for Into The Woods.
A new preview of Rob Marshall's much-hyped big-screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Broadway show has been unveiled online - and unlike the teaser trailer you can here some of the songs in this new video.
Meryl, who plays The Witch, can be heard singing her big number Stay With Me, and while she may look terrifying, with a gnarled face, long finger-nails and matted grey hair, her voice is lilting and beautiful.
The Oscar-winning actress leads a stellar cast, including Johnny Depp as the Big Bad Wolf, James Corden and Emily Blunt as The Baker and his wife and Anna Kendrick and Chris Pine as Cinderella and Prince Charming.
The trailer also shows Depp luring Red Riding Hood off the path, Jack's beanstalk growing and the ominous stomp of a giant's feet.
Meryl recently told Entertainment Weekly: "I've been offered many witches over the years, starting when I was 40, and I said no to all of them.
"But this was really fun because it played with the notion of what witches mean. They represented age and ugliness and scary powers we don't understand. So here's my opportunity to say, here's what you wish for when you're getting old."
