Styler admits directing dreams
Trudie Styler has her eyes set on being the next Kathryn Bigelow.
The actress-producer fancies winning awards with a stint in the director's chair.
Asked about the Oscar-winning success of The Hurt Locker filmmaker Kathyrn, she quipped: "I'll be next" adding "I want to direct a film - I've directed a documentary and a short and I'm very much gearing up towards directing in the next few years."
She said: "I think we're going to see more female directors. There are far more women producers than there are women directors, but I think it's growing. It's obviously time."
Trudie, who is married to Sting, refused to respond to reports about her possible involvement in the upcoming Kurt Cobain biopic, despite Kurt's widow Courtney Love saying she would like her to help with the film.
"That's hard for me to say and an impossible question for me to answer, because I'll either connect with the story or it wouldn't appeal. Like an action film wouldn't have a lot of rapport for me," she said.
First up for the mother-of-four, who appears in Paris Connections, is a small part in The Next Three Days alongside Russell Crowe. The thriller, directed by Oscar-winner Paul Haggis, will be released this winter.
"It was fun. My role was small but it's a very significant part, set in the Allegheny county jail in Pittsburgh," she said.
"My scenes are with Russell. He's an amazing actor and I do know him socially."
:: Paris Connections will be available on DVD at Tesco from September 6.
