Teen horror classic for reboot
I Know What You Did Last Summer, the horror film that starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, is going to be remade by the team behind fright flick hit Oculus.
Mike Flanagan was the co-writer and director of low-budget horror success Oculus, and now he is taking on the 1997 film's reboot for Sony with his partner Jeff Howard, with Neal Moritz, who produced the original, on board too, according to Deadline.
I Know What You Did Last Summer was based on the 1973 Lois Duncan book and also spawned a sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
The film follows a group of friends being stalked by a serial killer after they tried to cover up a fatal car accident, and also starred Sarah Michelle Gellar and Anne Heche, but it isn't known yet who will appear in the reboot.
Mike has another horror film, Somnia, due out next year, which stars Kate Bosworth as the mother of a boy whose dreams manifest themselves in real life while he sleeps.
Neal is producing 23 Jump Street for Sony, the follow up to 21 and 22 Jump Street, which stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill.
