Thomas Church has Nothing To Fear

Thomas Haden Church will be starring in Nothing To Fear, produced by Slash's film production company Slasher Films.

In the chilling horror, directed by Anthony Leonardi, Thomas will play a "charismatic but unbalanced" clergyman, who has to help a family tormented by an ancient blood-sucking demon, reports Deadline.

The film is set in a small town purported to be one of the seven gateways to hell in rural Kansas.

"Our mission at Slasher Films has been to create genre films that defy the genre stereotypes. The team of Anthony and Thomas elevate an already frightening story with a unique vision and powerful artistry," said the former Guns N' Roses guitarist.

The film, which aims to start shooting in Louisiana in October, is Anthony's directorial debut, following his work with Gore Verbinski in films like Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End, Rango and Water For Elephants.

Slash - who has also played for Velvet Revolver - announced he was branching out into films last year.

He aims to produce "edgy contemporary horror fare with a nod to the thrillers of the 1970s and 1980s" with Slasher Films.
