Thornton and Whitaker in Furnace?
Billy Bob Thornton and Forest Whitaker are both rumoured to be circling roles in revenge drama Out Of The Furnace.
Thornton is in the frame to portray a villain, while Oscar-winner Whitaker could be cast as a sleazy bookie, reports Deadline.
Viggo Mortensen was previously thought to be considering the baddie role.
If Thornton and Whitaker sign up, they will join an impressive cast already boasting the likes of Christian Bale, Zoe Saldana and Casey Affleck.
The film - which will be directed by Crazy Heart's Scott Cooper - focuses on a man named Slim (Bale) who is released from prison after four years and plans to get back to a peaceful, law-abiding family life with his girlfriend (Saldana).
However, he gets drawn into a quest for revenge when his brother, who will be played by Affleck, is murdered after getting involved in the gambling racket.
