TitanCon: Game Of Thrones congress for Belfast

By Chris Kilpatrick

Game Of Thrones fans from around the world are set to descend on Northern Ireland for their chance to rub shoulders with some of the stars from the blockbuster television series.

A huge convention — TitanCon — takes place on September 22 at the Europa Hotel in Belfast.

The convention, now in its second year, offers the chance to meet many of the cast members of the hit HBO show currently being filmed in Northern Ireland.

Fan favourites Miltos Yerolemou (Syrio Forel) and Kristian Nairn (Hodor) will be on-hand to answer questions, with Miltos putting fans through their paces in the swordfighting style known as water dancing.

Fans can get their photos taken with the cast members and also have their books or DVDs signed.

But TitanCon isn't just about Game Of Thrones; there will be a full line-up of discussion panels, workshops and events, with something for any science-fiction or fantasy fan to enjoy.

And comic fans can help local comic artists Andy Luke, Patrick Brown and Paul J Holden as they attempt to write, draw, print, produce and distribute a comic book in the space of just one day.

Full attending membership currently costs £18 and can be purchased via the convention’s website:
