Travolta Oscars gaffe: Let it go
John Travolta has said he was embarrassed over his Oscars gaffe where he mispronounced Idina Menzel's name, but has decided to "let it go".
The Pulp Fiction actor was given the job of announcing Wicked and Glee star Idina as she took to the stage to perform Let It Go, her Academy Award-winning song from her role in animated adventure Frozen.
But instead, John read out: "Please welcome the Wickedly talented, one and only Adele Dazeem."
According to Digital Spy, John released a statement saying: "I've been beating myself up all day. Then I thought, 'What would Idina Menzel say?' She'd say, 'Let it go, let it go!'
"Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night."
Frozen won gongs for Best Original Song for Let It Go and Best Animated Feature.
After his mistake, a widget launched called The Adele Dazeem Name Generator which lets users "Travoltify" their name by seeing how the Hairspray star would have pronounced it.
