The UK’s Lucie Jones has put in her bid for Eurovision glory at the song contest’s grand final in Kiev.
It may not be a regular occurrence for our entrants to do well in the scoring, but viewers agreed that the former X Factor contestant had given the UK its best chance of winning in a long time.
One viewer complimented Lucie on a “flawless performance”.
Others were feeling hopeful about the UK’s chances.
But another viewer warned her not to worry about the often-tactical voting.
Thought Lucie Jones performance was miles ahead of anyone else. Voting doesn't matter so much. She couldn't have done better. #Eurovision— Dan Patterson (@DanPattersons) May 13, 2017
Another person added their voice to the pile of glowing reviews for Great Britain.
Katrina And The Waves was the last home act to win the Eurovision Song Contest, 20 years ago in 1997 with Love Shine A Light.
