Vin Diesel 'excited' for Fast 7

Vin Diesel has revealed he cannot wait to start working on Fast 7.

The Conjuring director James Wan is taking over from Justin Lin in the director's chair, and shooting on the seventh instalment is expected to start in coming weeks, with Vin reprising his role as Dominic Toretto.

"I'm very excited about Fast 7. We have the director that the studio brought on in James Wan, who had already conquered the horror thriller film genre and is going to bring some nuances to this seventh film. It's going to be a new dynamic," he said.

Vin - whose real name is Mark Sinclair - will be joined by newcomers Jason Statham, Thai martial arts actor Tony Jaa and professional fighter Ronda Rousey, along with returning co-stars Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson.

"We've brought on Jason Statham to play one of the characters, which I think is going to be really fun," he continued.

"We've also enrolled an actor who, ironically Quentin Tarantino turned me on to - Tony Jaa. He has done films like Ong-Bak and we're bringing him into the fold for Fast 7. So it's going to be a really fun experience."

Vin, who has reprised his breakthrough role as Richard B Riddick in third film Riddick, has already said that the seventh movie would feature Los Angeles, Tokyo and the Middle East as locations, and will be released in summer 2014.

:: Riddick is in cinemas now.
