Watch: Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn recreates 'Hold the Door' scene in KFC advert

Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn has appeared in a new advert for fast food chain KFC.

The Lisburn actor can be seen recreating the famous 'Hold the Door' scene from the hit fantasy series in which his character Hordor seemingly dies.

The KFC advert titled 'Lunchtime Is Coming…' was released online on Monday, promoting the company’s new Ricebox.

Nairn stands behind the counter, waiting for dozens of customers to enter.

Immediately they all begin asking for “chicken and fries”  with the actor repeating the order until - like with that infamous scene - the words merge into “chicken and rice.”

Nairn is not the first Game of Thrones star to cash in on the show's success.

In May, an advert from Sodastream showed Hafthór Júlíus 'Thor' Björnsson who plays The Mountain and Hannah Waddingham, who played Septa Unella, parodying the famous Walk of Shame scene.

However the video was banned by the Advertising Standards Authority on the grounds of offensive language and unsubstantiated environmental claims.

The new series of Game of Thrones is set to premiere on July 17.
