Kristen Wiig is to star alongside Alexander Skarsgard in drama The Diary Of A Teenage Girl.
British actress Bel Powley will make her US film debut in the coming-of-age movie, which has started shooting in San Francisco, reported Variety.
The 21-year-old - who made her name on stage with roles in the Royal Court Theatre's West End production of Tusk Tusk, Tom Stoppard's Arcadia on Broadway and the Royal Court Theatre's production of Jumpy - will play a teenage artist living in the San Francisco in the 1970s who has an affair with her mother's boyfriend.
Marielle Heller is directing the big-screen adaptation of Phoebe Gloeckner's graphic novel of the same name. She has also written the film's screenplay after developing the project at the Sundance Institute Directors and Screenwriters Labs.
Kristen, who was recently seen in The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty alongside Ben Stiller and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, lends her voice to one of the characters in How To Train Your Dragon 2.
She will also be seen in drama The Skeleton Twins with Bill Hader and Luke Wilson, and will reunite with Will Ferrell and James Marsden in comedy Welcome To Me.
True Blood actor Alexander was last seen in thriller The East, drama What Maisie Knew and thriller Disconnect.
