Wiig to make her directing debut
Kristen Wiig is set to direct her first movie.
The actress is teaming up with Annie Mumolo, her co-screenwriter on Bridesmaids, for their first movie together since enjoying huge success with the 2011 comedy.
As well as penning the new film, Kristen and Annie will star as best friends who "find themselves in over their heads and out of their depths" in the movie, The New York Times reported.
The pair said in a statement: "We're very excited to be writing. We will be going into a cave for months to finish. An actual cave. We found one that's nice and big. We're putting a couch in there."
Kristen added: "I've been wanting to direct for some time now. This seems like the perfect first project."
Since surprise box office smash Bridesmaids, which earned the pair a screenplay Oscar nomination, Kirsten' s credits have included The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, Anchorman 2 and Hateship, Loveship.
Annie penned the Jennifer Lawrence film Joy and appeared in This Is 40 and Afternoon Delight.
The film is being made for TriStar Productions.
