Comedian Seann Walsh and dance partner Katya Jones returned to the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor last night following their cheating scandal.

The 32-year-old funnyman and the Russian dancer (29) put on a defiant display after they were caught kissing in the street last week - despite him dating actress Rebecca Humphries and Katya being married to fellow Strictly star, Neil Jones.

Pictures of the pair kissing during a boozy night out, which emerged last Sunday, led to Walsh's girlfriend of five years dumping him and put added strain onto Katya's marriage to Neil Jones.

On last night's BBC One show they performed a high-energy Charleston to Lunchmoney Lewis song Bills, set in a pizza restaurant, but the pair made no reference to the events of the past week.

They received cheers from the audience as they attempted tricky lifts, one which saw Jones swing around Walsh's shoulders and another where she stood on top of his shoulders, although they struggled with the final lift.

The judges were largely impressed, with Dame Darcey commenting: "That was a full routine, you delivered a great energy, strong vibrant character, there were some really tricky lifts in there.

"I enjoyed one of the first ones where you took one arm and one leg where you swung her around. How you saved that last one..."

Shirley Ballas said Walsh "gets an extra point" for saving the last lift, and she said the "whole routine was totally entertaining, you got one tiny kick wrong in the middle, but I loved it".

They were given 28 points from the judges, one of the highest scores of the episode.

Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton topped the leaderboard last night with 33 points.

Presenters Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly had made a light-hearted mention of the drama as they opened the live show.

Daly told the audience: "For the last seven days, our couples have been eating, sleeping, breathing, dancing."

Winkleman chipped in: "Apart from that, it's been a quiet week..." with Daly adding: "Other than the odd headline."

Despite Walsh and Jones both releasing statements apologising for their actions earlier in the week, his girlfriend Rebecca revealed in a statement that she had yet to receive a personal apology from either party - and that the incident happened on her birthday.

Yesterday a new report suggested he is claiming he has now said sorry face-to-face.

In her statement she had said: "This whole business has served to remind me that I am a strong, capable person who is now free; and no victim."
