Mrs Brown earns £1.42m for comic creator O'Carroll
That's nice… the success of Brendan O’Carroll’s foul-mouthed Agnes Brown last year resulted in profits at his main firm climbing to almost £1.5m.
New accounts filed in Dublin show that O’Carroll’s firm, Mrs Browns Boys Ltd, increased its accumulated profits by just over £600,000 — going from £823,000 to £1.42m.
O’Carroll’s hit creation, Mrs Browns Boys, was one of the big Christmas TV ratings winners with 9m viewers watching the Christmas Day edition of the comedy on the BBC.
The new accounts for Mrs Brown’s Boys Ltd show that the cash pile at the firm increased more than six-fold, going from £140,000 to £934,000 in 2015.
