No priority for Belfast over MTV tickets
It's costing the taxpayers almost a million pounds.
Both Belfast City Council and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board are pumping tens of thousands of pounds into hosting the MTV European Music Awards.
But anyone hoping to get their hands on one of the hottest tickets in town will have to pray their luck is in.
No priority ticket allocation has been made for the citizens of Belfast.
Instead, city ratepayers will have to compete against the rest of the UK through a series of competitions for access to the main event at the Odyssey Arena.
