Tyrone singer-songwriter Bernadette Morris was one of 14 people to be awarded an Artist Career Enhancement Scheme (ACES) funding award by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland in autumn 2019.

The ACES awards are given in recognition of an emerging or mid-career artist's talent and to enable them in the creation of a new body of work. Bernadette has used her award to invest into marketing and artist development to target new markets in the Republic and Britain.

Will McCarthy Music Promotions and Good Seed PR (Linda Coogan Byrne) will work with her to release a series of new songs in 2020. One of the new songs to be released is a co-write with fellow Irish songwriter Eleanor McEvoy.

Bernadette said the award "has really helped me to forge ahead with my music career".

She added: "The funding is going toward the promotion and marketing of new music I have coming out this year. I've also been co-writing a lot recently and it was simply a dream come true to write with Eleanor McEvoy, whom I've greatly admired since I was a young girl."
