Bringing the sounds of New York to Belfast

Growing up in New York, Leon Vincent was inspired by the city's big names in DJing before taking to the decks himself in the late Eighties.

Ramiro Lopez

Thompson's Garage, Belfast

Tonight, 9pm

The launch party for the Misfit Music label sees a headline set from Spanish DJ Ramiro Lopez, one of the first artists to be released on the Belfast-based label, in the guise of his remix for Montel's Mind Trip EP. Renowned for his big room techno sound, Lopez is one of Europe's hottest producers and tonight's gig marks his debut appearance in Belfast. He'll be supported by Misfit mainstays Montel and Moodtrax.

Ray Mang

Sandino's, Londonderry

Tomorrow, 10pm

Eskimo Records stalwart Ray Mang, aka Raj Gupta, is one of disco music's hottest producers. He's also head honcho at the Mangled label and a popular collaborator, having worked with big names like the Idjut Boys, Block 16 and Lee Tong. As a remixer, his phone rarely stops ringing, so the folks at Sandino's have pulled off quite a coup in securing his services. Expect house and disco classics, Balearic, Afro and Latin beats.
