The stage is set and the performers are rarin' to go at Bushmills Live which begins tomorrow at the Old Bushmills Distillery on the North Coast.
The festival is the first of its kind to ever be staged in an Irish Whiskey Distillery and will feature performances from Snow Patrol, whose fee is being donated in full to the Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast, Elijah Wood of DJ Wooden Wisdom and world-renowned artists such as Iain Archer, Foy Vance, Marcus Foster and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
Master Distiller at the Old Bushmills Distillery, Colum Egan said: “After months of planning, I can’t believe that Bushmills Live is almost here.
“We have been working over the past few weeks to transform age-old buildings, where the art of whiskey distilling has been practiced for generations, into intimate venues.
“This will be a first in the 404 year history of distilling in the Bushmills area. Some of the biggest names in music will be performing at this landmark event – this is a festival that will be remembered for a very long time to come!”
Thousands of people entered a global competition to win tickets via the Bushmills Facebook page. Those who did win will form an audience with an international feel with fans from countries such as the USA, Portugal and Bulgaria joining local Irish fans at the Old Bushmills Distillery.
“The line-up for this event is superb”, said Festival Curator for ‘Bushmills Live’, Graham Brown.
“This festival of handmade whiskey and handmade music will feature everything from one of the world’s biggest bands to the very best in up-and-coming talent.
“It is going to be a fantastic two days and I can’t wait for it to start!”
