Adele facing challenge from Coldplay for supremacy in album charts

Coldplay could challenge Adele's crown in this week's UK albums charts.

A Head Full Of Dreams, the seventh album from Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion, has taken the lead ahead of the Skyfall singer's third studio record in the mid-week charts, according to figures by the Official Charts Company.

Adele's 25, which she described as a "make-up record", has broken UK and US records since its release. It has become the UK's biggest seller of 2015, as well as the fastest million-selling album in UK chart history.

Meanwhile, Norfolk DJ and producer Bruce Fielder aka Sigala could put an end to Justin Bieber's reign in the UK singles charts, as his new track Sweet Lovin' rushes up 66 places to number two, behind the Canadian pop star's Love Yourself.

It would be Sigala's second chart-topping tune, following Easy Love, which hit the top spot in September.

Sigala's feat pushes Bieber's Sorry to the third position, followed by Adele's Hello and Grace featuring G-Eazy's You Don't Own Me completing the Top Five.
