We ask local personalities what are their most favourite things
The 39-year-old from Londonderry is an award-winning singer and songwriter. She lives in Somerset with husband Sam Lakeman and their twin boys, Noah and Colm (6), and daughter Elizabeth (3)
My best moment
There have been so many wonderful moments over the years that I'm going to choose the most recent one. It was earlier this year in August when I took part in the All-Ireland Fleadh in Derry and performed with the Orchestra of Ireland at the Millennium Forum. It was a very special moment and a bit of a homecoming for me.
My best way to relax
I love simply spending time with the family, baking and making things with the children. We live in a lovely area of Somerset so there are lots of farmers' markets, walks and things to do for them in the surrounding area.
My best job
I officially have the best job in the world and I've never done anything else. Singing is one of the most relaxing things for me to do so it's never felt like hard work. Even touring is great fun – Sam comes along too as he's part of the band. We've all been together for years and are one big happy family.
My best advice
Never make just yourself a cup of tea – I think it probably came from my mum. It means when you're having an argument don't be petty and shut them out. Even if you're bickering you should still make them a cuppa if you're making yourself one.
My best gift
One is my engagement ring from Sam – it was passed down from his grandmother to his great-aunt and then to his mother before me and I'd like to pass it on to one of my children. The other thing is a KitchenAid mixer. I got one for my birthday and love it. I'm actually on my third one now – it's not that they break, I just bake so much I tend to burn out the motor. They're so much better than an ordinary mixer – they even knead dough for bread.
My best achievement
That's definitely my children. The twins were born at 26 weeks and only weighed 2lbs 10 and 2lbs 13 – Sam's wedding ring fitted on to their wrists. They're now fit and healthy which is amazing considering how little they were. The charity Tiny Life helps the parents of premature babies and was a great support to me. Consequently, I'm now one of its ambassadors. Elizabeth is a little miracle too – I have type-one diabetes which always has higher risks in pregnancy. That my children are all here and healthy is my real achievement.
My best buy
My new pillow. I've never been a great sleeper and I've been searching for the perfect pillow for more than a year. The one I've found now is dense and weighs a ton but it's actually helping me sleep.
My best book
I have a little book of daily reflections that I take with me wherever I go. I dip in and out of it to get a nice little positive thought to see me through the day.
My best movie
The Shawshank Redemption. It has everything; it's thrilling, it's heart-breaking and it's even uplifting in parts. I'm not a great one for watching things over and over again but it's the one film I'll always go back to time after time.
My best song
I'm a huge Kate Bush fan so I'm choosing The Jig Of Life by her. She's an amazing musician whose songs can really lead you on a journey. I find her a true inspiration and I love this particular song
