Ariana Grande has called for “love, unity, peace and gun control” and said that her “heart is breaking” in reaction to the mass shooting in Las Vegas.

The US singer, whose concert in Manchester was the target of a terror attack in May, was one of many stars speaking out in the wake of the shooting, which has killed at least 58 people and injured more than 500.

Grande, 24, wrote on Twitter: “My heart is breaking for Las Vegas.

“We need love, unity, peace, gun control & for people to look at this & call this what it is = terrorism.”

Grande was performing at the Manchester Arena on May 22 when a bomb was detonated by suicide bomber Salman Abedi, killing 22 people.

Country music star Jason Aldean, who was on stage during the last night of the three-day Route 91 Harvest Festival music event where the Las Vegas shooting took place, also took to social media following the atrocity.

The US singer ran from the stage as the gunshots rang out, and he described the ordeal as “beyond horrific” while sharing a picture of the city’s famous strip on Instagram with the words Pray For Las Vegas written over the top.

He captioned it: “Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still dont know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that Me and my Crew are safe.

“My Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight.

“It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night. #heartbroken #stopthehate”

The tragedy is the worst ever mass shooting in modern US history.
