AJ McLean is heading back to rehab.
The Backstreet Boys singer issued a statement confirming that he had checked himself into a rehabilitation centre, citing "personal reasons".
AJ said he knew this year was going to be busy for the Backstreet Boys, so he wanted to be "healthy and perform and sing for people at my very best and happiest".
The Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block are set to tour together this summer. AJ said the tour won't be affected.
Last year ended on a high note as the two boy bands performed in Times Square as part of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2011.
This will be AJ's third stint in rehab. The singer, who turned 33 last week, sought treatment in 2001 and 2002.
