Belsonic 2017: The Chainsmokers headline massive party at Ormeau Park
The US duo performed to a sold out crowd at the Belfast venue.
The Chainsmokers headlined the penultimate night of Belsonic 2017 on Monday, hosting a massive party at the Ormeau Park in Belfast.
The US duo were supported by singer Anne-Marie and fellow DJs Lost Kings, who got the sold-out crowd suitably in form for the main event.
And despite the bad weather in Belfast, The Chainsmokers' show was just spectacular enough to keep everyone in high spirits for a great gig.
The pair arrived on stage to roaring cheers as they opened with a number of their own tracks, including Roses, before playing a few mixes for the crowd that included a sample of Daft Punk's Around The World and One More Time.
Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall then took a moment to greet their fans, telling them: "This is out first show in Ireland and you guys are going absolutely nuts, this is amazing. You are gonna make this a great show."
With samples of classic crowd pleasers like Queen's We Will Rock You and House Of Pain's Jump Around included in the set list, the Belfast audience were already soaking up the atmosphere - but it was the stunning visuals on stage that give the concert goers an extra lift, as well as the pyrotechnics and fireworks display.
These were used throughout the gig to the delight of the crowd, whose energy was felt at all corners of the Belfast venue.
The Chainsmokers' best known hits Closer, Paris, and Something Just Like This were delivered out to great delight, with the duo appearing genuinely buzzed by the reaction of the crowd.
"This has been the best audience we have ever had," we were told. "We're gonna move to Belfast!"
The final mixes of the evening were then accompanied by bigger and better fireworks alongside streamers shot into the crowd, as the biggest party Ormeau Park has ever seen came to a close.
The Chainsmokers follow Arcade Fire, The 1975, Jess Glynne, and Martin Garrix as headliners of this year's Belsonic.
US rockers Green Day will take over the venue on Wednesday as part of their Revolution Radio tour before Swedish DJs Axwell Λ Ingrosso close Belsonic 2017 on Friday.
