Beyonce plans Belfast return
She’s only just left Belfast today, but pop diva Beyonce is already making plans to return to the city later this year.
The award-winning superstar revealed that she will play the Odyssey Arena on November 24, 2009, just hours after completing a two-night stint at the venue.
The singer, who is married to rap star Jay-Z, performed two sell-out shows at the Odyssey Arena on Sunday and last night as part of her I Am tour.
A spokeswoman for Aiken Promotions said Beyonce had immediately announced plans to return to Belfast due to “unprecedented demand”.
The bootylicious popstar also played four shows at the O2 in Dublin and is due to return there as well.
The shows in Belfast and Dublin received rave reviews and it is understood the sexy singer was overwhelmed by the Irish audiences and was keen to come back.
The former frontwoman of Destiny’s Child has enjoyed huge global success since embarking on a solo career and has had a number of number one albums that have spawned hits such as Crazy In Love, Irreplaceable, Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), If I Were A Boy and Halo.
Beyonce fan Katrina Doran said: “To be honest I’m not really surprised that she’s coming back so soon because she seemed to have a great time at the Belfast shows. I went on Sunday night and it was one of the best gigs I’ve been to. I’ll definitely be there in November.”
Tickets to see Beyonce on November 24 go on sale this Friday, June 5 at 9am.
